One of the largest and most exciting beach scenes in the entire United States may be found along the coasts of Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland, an area known as DelMarVa. These areas serve not only the locals, but are magnets for visitors from around the world.

Those who prefer a quieter time will want to make their way out to Assateague and Chincoteague islands. If you’re going to Maryland, then you must stop in Ocean City where there’s something for everyone regardless of age. The beautiful wide beaches extend beyond Ocean City into Delaware, where you can find the family friendly Bethany Beach, as well as many much quieter beaches in Lewes.

Delmarva is home to some of the prettiest beaches on the Atlantic coast. You will find clean shorelines with easy access and parking. Some but not all beaches are free. Public bus transportation now extends from lower Delaware through Ocean City and Worcester County Maryland.
