Welcome To Beach FYI

Something magical happens when you vacation at a beach town. The moment you arrive the world starts to fade away. The warm, sandy beaches, the rolling waves, the sparkling water and the spectacular sunsets make beach vacationing a top getaway on everyone’s list.

The east coast beaches offer lazy days and historic monuments. Beach towns along the Delmarva Peninsula like Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, Ocean City, West Ocean City, Assateague/Chincoteague and more offer the visitor a slice of Americana and plenty of relaxation. For those who like to add activity to relaxation, a wide variety of water sports and fun can be had. The famous east coast beach boardwalks offer nightlife, amusement and great people-watching, while the shores lend themselves to deep sea fishing, surfing and more.

The gulf coast beaches like Ocean Beach, Alabama, Siesta Key (just off Sarasota, Florida), Biloxi, Mississippi and more offer the traveler a serene oasis. The gulf coast beaches invite the visitor to slow down, let loose and rediscover the simpler things in life. If all that serenity gets to be a bit much, the nightlife explodes on the gulf shores, especially in Biloxi where the casinos beckon with their neon signs.

The west coast beaches are breathtaking. The California shoreline affords the tourist a diversity of landscapes, activities and attractions. With over 1,000 miles of coast, California has something for everyone. From the shores of San Diego, Laguna Beach and Santa Barbara to the shores of Carmel, Pismo Beach and San Francisco, the California coast is a mélange of beach performers, surfers and breathtaking natural beauty. Following up the coast from California, the beaches of Washington and Oregon give the traveler a more rugged, rustic beauty in the towns of Seaside and Cannon Beach, Oregon and Ruby Beach, Washington.

No matter if you choose the east coast beaches, gulf coast beaches, or west coast beaches, you can choose from locally-owned or national beach hotels, beach restaurants and top-notch vacation rentals. From the famous steamed clams of the east coast beaches, to the fish tacos of the west coast beaches, beach restaurants on patios surrounded by sparkling topaz water abound.

Famous beach hotels, like the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California, are historic glimpses into our past, but small beach hotels that have awesome ocean views are plentiful along the east coast beach, west coast beach and gulf coast beach shorelines.

All of the beach towns from east to west share a multitude of festivals and events throughout the year. There are ongoing Farmer’s Markets, wine and beer festivals, car show events, autumn and winter festivals and musical events galore. Click on the particular area you wish to visit and go to the calendar of events to see what is scheduled during the time that you will be there.

Each of the coastal hamlets have landmark and attractions to delight all visitors of all ages. Who can say no to the amusement parks on the boardwalks of east coast beach towns like Ocean City, Maryland or to Disneyland in Anaheim, California near Laguna Beach? Historic lighthouses, Victorian mansions, quaint shops, nightclubs and moonlit cruises add a sparkle to any vacation.

And do not forget to visit landmark sites found in all of the destinations. Click the beach town you want to visit to see what landmarks and attractions are offered. You can explore lighthouses, old churches, Civil War remnants, 17th century missions and much more. You will want to take in everything you can during your time at one of these charming beach towns.

So take out your suitcase, pack your suntan lotion, sunglasses, a pair of comfortable shoes, and, of course, a great book and click on one of the many beach resorts listed to begin planning your getaway. Your own oasis is just a click away….
